New Year’s Fiasco: Was Mariah Carey Sabotaged? (WATCH)

Singer's team believes she was thrown under the bus for ratings

Mariah Carey Performs In Times Square
Was Mariah Carey set up to fail?

Reps for the looney R&B star believe her cringeworthy lip sync fail during DICK CLARK’S NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST 2017 last night was no accident.

“This is sabotage,” one handler wrote in an email to Dick Clark Productions, which was subsequently obtained by TMZ.

The motive?  “So they could get Mariah drama,” a source told the website.

Reps for DCP called the accusation, “silly.”

Things went south pretty quickly in the final moments of 2016 when Carey — one of the biggest selling artists of all time — took the stage in Times Square to perform a medley of songs.

The singer claims she was not able to hear the music to her classic hit “Emotions” despite’s warning producers on multiple occasions about problems with her “inner ears” and monitors.

Just a few notes in, she lowered the microphone to reveal vocals coming from a background track and encouraged the crowd to sign along.

Later in the evening, Carey — who also appears in the new basic cable reality series MARIAH’S WORLD — tweeted, “S–t happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”

What did you think of Mariah’s performance?  Did the show throw her under the bus?
