Simon Cowell continues to develop a new reality series which would bring him back to the network that made him an international star.
“We continue to have conversations with Simon,” Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman says. “We love him. We really consider him part of the Fox family.”
Simon first appeared on the network in 2002 as part of the judges panel for AMERICAN IDOL.
He left the program after nine seasons to launch the rival (but less successful) singing competition, X FACTOR.
Fox has been teasing his return for the past 18 months.
“The fact that he is now doing AMERICA’S GOT TALENT I think slowed down development plans with him,” Newman admits.
“There is an idea that he has been noodling for a while that we have been talking to him about. But it is definitely delayed it off in to the future.”
Cowell, 56, is expected to appear during the final season of AMERICAN IDOL this spring.
