Steve Harvey crowns the wrong Miss Universe

Steve Harvey has an open invitation to continue hosting the MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT for as long as it airs on Fox, the network’s head of programming tells me.

Harvey, of course, stepped in what could have been a career-defining pile of poop last month when he inadvertently announce the wrong winner of the international beauty contest.

While some celebrities have suggested the gaffe was no accident, Fox CEO Gary Newman says the “shocking series of events” at the end of the program should not prohibit Harvey from returning to redeem himself.

“I thought Steve handled it with unbelievable grace and humility,” he says.

“He was honest and he took responsibility.  I kind of think if you follow social media afterwards, people kind of loved him for the way he handles it.  We would love nothing more than for Steve Harvey to be back and host that show for as long as we have it.”
