“Claire and I knew we were going to win"

The first-ever winners of VH1’s TWINNING are developing a new reality TV series and planning an appearance on fashion’s biggest stage.

Shawn and Claire Buitendorp — once mentored by the legendary Betsey Johnson — outlasted 11 other sets of identical twins to claim the top prize of $222,222.22 on Wednesday night.

“Claire and I knew we were going to win,” Shawn tells TheTVPage.com.

“We went into the show planning on winning.  It just reaffirmed that we could believe in ourselves.  We could believe in each other and we could believe in our ‘twin-tuition.’”

The Buitendorps, 25, plan to use the prize money (less one personal splurge each) to grow their fashion design business, Shock and Awww.

The sisters from suburban Michigan have already designed outfits worn on stage by Katy Perry and Little Mix.

“We are continuing to work with VH1,” Shawn says.

“We are very interested in hosting the next season of TWINNING.  As the ultimate twinners, nobody understands what people go through better than us.”

“We are also in the works of making our own reality TV show about two girls moving to the big city and making clothes for big singers and celebrities.”

And, if that’s not enough to keep them busy….

“We are working for our first fashion show for New York Fashion Week that will debut in February,” Shawn says.
