‘Monopoly Millionaires Club’:
Billy Gardell “Scared To Death” About Pittsburgh Steelers Game

Billy Gardell is “scared to death” as his beloved Pittsburg Steelers prepare to open their 2015 season against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

“I think Brady might smoke our secondary,” the MIKE & MOLLY star admits. “(The Steelers) defense looks anemic right now. I am going to be in pins and needles.”

Game time is set for 8:30 PM (E.T.) at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.

The Steelers — 7.5 point underdogs — might have had an easier road to victory had a Federal Court judge in Manhattan not tossed Brady’s four game suspension last week.

“It doesn’t surprise me,” Gardell says of the legal victory.

“He is a marquee player. They are not going to punish a marquee player. I guess they couldn’t prove it or they did prove it and it wasn’t enough. I don’t know what the story is. But I am not surprised that he is not suspended. Let’s just say that.”

In between watching football games, Gardell will be spending a lot of time in Las Vegas this month, filming the second season of  MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES CLUB which returns in syndication on September 12.

His first game show hosting gig came as “second nature,” Gardell tells TheTVPage.com.

“I think that is because of being a stand up.”

“The first thing you learn as a stand up is how to host a show. And I end up rooting for these people. I want then to beat the house. I don’t care. I love it.”

Gardell, who grew up relatively poor before making it big on TV, says he is certainly not one who believes that money is the root of all evil.

“It could change (people’s lives) for the better,” he says.

“It is all about how the person reacts. We have had some amazing stories. Our first $1 million winner was a new grandmother and she just wanted to get on the show to help her family out. And she won $1 million.”
