‘Last Week Tonight’:
John Oliver Gives Back To School Advice (WATCH)

"You are going to be repetitively told you are going to need [math] when you grow up. That is bullshit."

John Oliver gives back-to-school advice on 'Last Week Tonight'

John Oliver is even funny when his show is on hiatus!

The British comic — and host of HBO’s Sunday night staple LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLVIER — released a 13 minute “Back To School” video yesterday offering students insight into what they really need to pay attention to in class.

AMERICAN HISTORY: “The only thing you need to learn about this is something that they are almost definitely not going to teach you. That is Warren G. Harding’s love life, which, believe me, was spectacular.”

MATH: “You are going to be repetitively told you are going to need this when you grow up. That is bullshit. You are going to need addition, subtraction, multiplication and division — which where I am from were called “the original Fab Four”. That is it. I am an adult with a job and I cannot remember if a logarithm is exponent, Kenny Loggins first album or a method of lumberjack birth control.”

We won’t spoil the rest for you. Check out the complete video below.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER returns Sunday, September 13 on HBO.
