Tommy Davidson
‘In Living Color’ Reunion ‘Is Inevitable’

Comic will appear on season finale of 'Celebrity Wife Swap'

A reunion of the 1990s sketch comedy series IN LIVING COLOR “is inevitable,” cast member Tommy Davidson says.

“This is our 25th year anniversary.  There is no way that we are going to let this 25th year go by us without doing something.

“We don’t know what it is.  But it is the natural way about us.  We are a group.  We are like the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrating the 25th year of their Super Bowls.  It’s not like they are not wanting to be together.”

A reboot of the groundbreaking urban comedy show featuring a new cast as well as appearances from original members including Davidson, Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez and David Alan Grier was announced in 2012.

But two years later, the plan was scrapped.

“At the end of the day it was really a problem between Fox and the producers,” Grier revealed on LARRY KING NOW in 2014.

Now, Davidson says he would be in favor of a more grass-roots approach to bringing the show back — perhaps online or a platform like Netflix.

“I’d like to do that but [creator Keenan Ivory Wayans] is calling the shots,” he says.

“Keenan is like the Professor Xavier of the whole situation.  So we are kind of waiting around.”

In the meantime, Davidson, 51, will trade spouses with GOONIES actor Corey Feldman on tonight’s season finale of CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP.

“He originally didn’t want to do it,” his bride of one month, Amanda Moore, admits.

“But I think it is a good outlet for him.  People don’t see him in that light — as a good family man.”

Davidson has a 22 year-old daughter from a previous relationship who appears in the episode.

He also relishes the opportunity to be step-dad to Moore’s 5 year-old son.

“I love just being around someone who believes that everybody is good,” he says.

“They believe everything is good.  It reinforces the way I feel about things.”

CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP airs tonight at 10:00 PM on ABC.
