The NBC singing competition has never won on TV's biggest night

THE VOICE has never won on TV’s biggest night.

Could this be the year the NBC singing competition finally gets some Emmy love?

Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams are hoping to woo TV Academy voters with a new promo video in which the country star compares the classic gold Emmy statue to one of his fellow coaches.

“They are just like [Adam] Levine,” he jokes. ¬†“They are just little scrawny things.”

The Mark Burnett-produced series is nominated in six categories including Outstanding Reality Competition.

THE VOICE returns to NBC on September 21.
