‘The Island’: Watch Participant Give CPR To A Sea Turtle

"I'm about to blow air down his mouth"

Well, here’s something you don’t see every day.

Tonight’s episode of the NBC reality series THE ISLAND includes a pretty unbelievable scene where one participant administers CPR…to a sea turtle!

The endangered creature was pulled ashore when it inadvertantly became entangled in a fishing net.

That’s when 31 year-old Benji Lanpher of Los Angeles came to the rescue.

“I’m about to blow air down his mouth,” he says before performing the life-saving technique.

Benji is one of 14 adventure-seekers who are challenged to survive on the remote island with little more than the clothes on their back and video cameras to document their every move.

Last week, the show’s host and producer Bear Grylls came under fire from the British arm of PETA, which claimed that certain animals features on the show were not treated humanely.

Check out the clip above and let us know what you think.

THE ISLAND airs Monday nights at 10:00 PM ET/PT on NBC.
