Matt Lauer called him “a sight for sore eyes.”
Tracy Morgan — the star of SNL and 30 ROCK, who nearly lost his life last summer in a tragic freeway crash — gave his first interview this morning on TODAY.
“I can’t believe I’m here,” he said.
“The case [against Walmart, whose driver was determined to be the cause of the accident] is over, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac.”
He was talking, of course, about fellow comic and longtime friend James McNair, who was killed in a six vehicle pileup that started when the Mercedes Sprinter they were riding in was struck from behind by a Walmart tractor-trailer.
Morgan said he still experiences pain and other side effects from the accident and vowed that while he’s not 100 percent yet, once “I’m there, you’ll know it, and I’ll make you laugh.”
