Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel paid tribute to his friend and mentor, David Letterman, last night.
“Even though it looked like every other talk show, it wasn’t,” he said of Letterman’s two decade stint on THE LATE SHOW.
“It was totally original, primarily because of the host of the show — who, a lot of times — seemed embarrassed to be there.”
Kimmel, 47, also revealed that he had a LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN-themed birthday party when he turned 16.
The ABC host will air a repeat of his show tonight in tribute to Letterman’s final telecast on CBS.
He urged all of his viewers — especially the younger ones — to tune in and watch his hero.
