There will be lots of baby talk on the upcoming season of UNUSUALLY THICKE.
One of the show’s main story lines will involve discussions between actor Alan Thicke and his third wife, Tanya Callau, about whether to bring a new member into their family.
“Tanya has raised [my youngest son] Carter with me and deserves her fantasy of having her own biological child,” Thicke, the former star of GROWING PAINS, tells me.
“I just kind of close my eyes and hope that there will be some epiphany. There are truly so many elements to navigate in that because of our [28 year] age difference. She completely deserves it and I completely deserve not to [have it].”
Thicke, 67, says he already has his hands full with three sons and two grandsons.
“The conversation with Tanya and I is just, ‘Are you going to be able to do this alone and be wiping oatmeal off my chin in 15 years if I am lucky enough to still be there?’ So it is really an age difference issue.”
“For better or for worse, I am really hands on. I love my kids and not an hour goes by that I am not curious or concerned about their welfare.”
But, the actor concedes: “Realistically, no mater what I might ever say about the wisdom of having another child, I am also a complete sucker for kids. So as soon as I see one, I am hooked. I am in.”
UNUSUALLY THICKE returns later in 2015 on POP!
