‘THE VOICE’ WINNER CRAIG WAYNE BOYD NEARLY QUIT MUSIC
Craig Wayne Boyd was crowned the seventh winner of THE VOICE last night in Los Angeles. But moments later, the singer revealed that he nearly gave up on his musical dream.
“I remember a little more than a year ago sitting in a pickup outside of a club after I had played to basically no one and talking to my drummer and saying, ‘Listen, I may have to quit because it’s not paying my bills and I’m losing my house,'” he revealed in a post-show press conference.
“I lost my pickup. I didn’t know what I was going to do. And him telling me, ‘Dude, you can’t do that!'”
“And then randomly the opportunity (came) up to go audition a few months out for The Voice and I was like, ‘You know what? You ought to go do that.'”
Boyd was coached by country superstar Blake Shelton. The final four included three contestants coached by rocker Adam Levine.
LOGAN GULEFF IS OUR NEW ‘MASTERCHEF JUNIOR’
The 11 year-old from Memphis, Tennessee narrowly beat out favorite Samuel Stromberg of northern California.
For his efforts, the sixth grader pockets $100,000, a super cool glass trophy and bragging rights.
“I can’t believe I won. This is just like crazy talk. This feeling is super surreal. It feels like dream land, it feels amazing, life-changing. This is definitely one of the best days of my life,” he said at the end of the broadcast.
“But it’s not about the money or the trophy, it’s about making friends forever.”
The new season of MASTERCHEF JUNIOR premieres January 6 on Fox.
