The people have spoken!
Hundreds of controversial ads for the new Fox drama RED BAND SOCIETY have been pulled from Metro busses in Los Angeles after complains from the public about “offensive language”
The campaign — which features a caption next to a photo of star Octavia Spencer that reads “Scary Bitch” — has been going on for months.
“Metro Board Exec Comte [sic] getting earful from community over allowing ‘Red Band Society” ad on buses,” the city acknowledged in a tweet yesterday. “Metro officials say ad is being pulled.”
Predictably, Fox issued a quick apology, saying: “We were notified this morning of the concern around the ads and immediately offered to remove the language. Metro Los Angeles ultimately decided to take down the ads, and we respect that decision. We sincerely apologize if the copy was offensive to viewers.”
