‘The Voice’: Does Jake Barker Suffer From Nobilette Syndrome?

Jake Barker sure can sing! But can he perform?

After his Blind Audition on Monday night, the New York City bartender confided to the coaches that this was his VERY FIRST TIME EVER ON STAGE.

Jake undoubtedly has one of the strongest vocals this season on the show.

His audition to Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man” – which was posted on NBC’s website under THE VOICE page late last week, with him blurred out from head-to-toe – resulted in a three-chair turn (Usher, Shakira, and Adam Levine).

(SPOILER ALERT! – he ultimately joined Team Usher.)

Need more proof of his vocal abilities? Here’s Jake covering Rihanna last year.

But it’s hard to miss the a striking similarity to another current pop star hopeful.

AMERICAN IDOL contestant M.K. Nobilette can also sing, and . . . well . . . that’s pretty much it.

And it finally caught up to her over the past few weeks, as judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., pointed out her lacking ability to command the stage.

Granted, Barker, 28, showed much more enthusiasm on Monday than M.K. has in her last two performances. But when it comes time to perform in the Battle Rounds (which begin next week), he will have all four coaches looking at him from beginning to end.

In addition, if Barker advances past the Battle and Knockout Rounds, he will be singing live in front of millions of viewers.

The Season 6 Blind Auditions for THE VOICE will conclude this Tuesday for one hour at 8pm/7 central.

Do you think that Jake Barker will have the stage presence to make it far this season on THE VOICE? Let us know in the comments below.
