Producer Kevin Williamson insists there are no plans to reunite the cast of his popular teen drama DAWSON’S CREEK — despite online reports that several main players are clamoring to do it.
“I would never even consider [a reunion],” Kevin told me today. “I respect all the people who want it. And I hope we continue to talk about it forever cause let’s keep talking about it, but I don’t think we really, really want it.
Kevin — who created DAWSONS in 1998 and now produces THE FOLLOWING on Fox — also assured me that “nobody [within the cast] is even talking about it.”
He is grateful, however, for the fan support throughout the years.
“Thank gosh that DAWSON’S CREEK made such an impact that there are people out there who would want to see that,” Kevin says.
“From the opening credits, it is such a nostalgic piece. Even when we made it, it was made to be like ‘here are all these kids making these memories together’ and that is the show now for me. I don’t know how the others feel about it, but it is a memory piece. I look back on it as just the most amazing and greatest thing that ever happened in my life. It is my life story brought to the TV screen on a weekly basis by all of these brilliant actors.”
